Ken Spearing

I was born in Cambridge, Hants County, Nova Scotia, the son of a cabinet maker and a school teacher

My formal education was as a Chemical Engineer in Ontario but my passion for art started at the age of 6 and continues to be nourished in beautiful Prince Edward Island.

Over the years I have been fortunate to have worked with many prominent artists and attend many workshops since retiring in 1989.  This has provided me with the opportunity to pursue a new career as a full-time artist.

With many one-man shows over the years as well as participating in group shows with a variety of artists, I have earned an international reputation as both an artist and mural painter.  My Gallery page provides examples of my various venues.

My main studio is in my home in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.  As  well, I maintain a studio in Selma, Nova Scotia.

Commissions accepted.

I work in many mediums – oil, acrylic, watercolour and more recently, charcoal.

My favorite backdrop is the portrayal of rural scenes and seascapes with a particular interest in the depiction of rural textures.
