KEN SPEARING, ARTIST

BIOGRAPHY Born in Cambridge Hants County N.S. 1944, the son of a cabinet maker.
Ken completed his formal education in Ontario as a graduate chemical engineer.
Art interest started at the early age of 6 yrs. and continues to be nourished in his historic studio/gallery in Summerville N.S. [Riverwind Gallery].
Ken has studied with many prominent artists through the years and attended many workshops.
He has had many group and one man shows during his artistic career. He has an international reputation as a fine artist and a mural painter.
Ken teaches art and offers workshops from his studio. Commissions accepted.
All mediums-Oil, Acrylic, Water colours, Ink, and Pencil.
This painters passion is the portrayal of rural scenes, of particular interest is the forgotten past of Nova Scotia agriculture and the detail depiction of the rural textures.

Ken will be launching a new venture in mural painting, called Tranek, with a mobile unit. This will be a full time business starting Jan. 1/09.

Ken is exhibiting landscape watercolours at the Avon Emporium Cafe, in Summerville, along with other artists.

Ken is painting a new mural in the loby of Jennifers Flowers / Peg and Wire.
Located in Avonian Place, Windsor, Nova Scotia

Ken Spearing will be conducting a workshop at the Dr. Arthur Hines Elementary School, Summerville, NS
on May 8, 14, 21 and 28th. Grade 5 and 6 students will be working on a mural in the hall of the school and will be given art lessons by Ken.

Ken will be adding a new fresh look to The Howard Dill Statue on Water St.

Ken Spearing was commissioned to repair a mural that he had painted some
years ago in Windsor Nova Scotia
Many of us have seen these beautiful paintings but few have seen the work that actually goes into one of them.

This mural has now been completed and the town of Windsor would like to announce that limited edition prints of the mural are available for sale, contact Ken Spearing for details.
The next art project in Windsor is the repaint of the mural on the Victory Credit Union on Gerish St. Planned completion by August.
